Interior Features

The interior of the hybrid Wrangler 4xe resembles other Wranglers in the Jeep family. The magnificent beast has a light bar on top of the dashboard showing the status of your charging battery. There are drive mode buttons left of your steering wheel and the Max Regen button below your touchscreen. The hybrid Wrangler's instrument panel and touchscreen have 4xe specific displays. The touchscreen even has a hybrid-specific page. The Wrangler's backseat now accommodates the vehicle's battery pack, fitted under the seat and high up inside the frame. Placing the battery pack under the backseat allows the SUV to retain its off-road abilities. As the backseat doesn't fold completely, some cubic feet of the cargo space is taken up. Comfort is still available with the new Wrangler. The roof and doors are attached. There is plenty of headroom and legroom in the back of the Wrangler.

Charging & Range

The hybrid Wrangler on default runs in hybrid mode combining both gas and electric power it has. The Wrangler's addition to the new Jeep Inventory offers about 34 kilometres of electric power, which is impressive. Jeep states that it takes two hours to charge the 17.3-kWh battery fully. Charging is done through the near-standard J1772 charging connector. A 240-volt Level 2 charger that handles 7.2 kilowatts of power is best suited for the task. Charging using the standard 120-volt household outlet is estimated to take a total of 12 hours to charge the vehicle from empty fully. Keeping your hybrid Wrangler charged ensures you get better gas mileage.

Engine & Safety Technology

The hybrid Wrangler 4xe uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, which provides the vehicle with maximum horsepower, instant torque, and acceleration. In this mode, electric power is consumed first as a way to maximize cost. The SUV has regenerative braking, which charges your battery as you decelerate. The Wrangler has a Max Regen feature which allows the hybrid Wrangle 4xe to slow down faster. As for the Jeep Wrangler 4xe's powertrain, it has two electric motors and a 400-volt battery pack that pair with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. The four-cylinder hybrid engine gives you 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, making it agile on-road and off-road.

In terms of safety, you can expect features like Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Path Detection, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Trailer Sway Control, and more.

Off-Road Capability

The hybrid Wrangler 4xe has a four-wheel-drive system, allowing the superb vehicle to soar well in off-road terrain. The 4xe comes in three trims, i.e., Sahara, High Altitude, and the Rubicon. The Sahara and High Altitude perform perfectly in city streets as it has big wheels and low profile tires. The Rubicon is more of an off-road pick with features such as electronic locking front and rear differentials, a low range gear ratio of 4:1, lifted suspensions, and smaller wheels.
