If you are having trouble choosing between the powertrain warranty and the bumper-to-bumper warranty, the type of warranty you are going to want is the bumper-to-bumper warranty if it is available. The reason is that it is going to cover more than just the powertrain. It will cover items from the front bumper to the back bumper.
With the bumper-to-bumper warranty, another name for it is the comprehensive warranty. This means that it takes care of items such as the electronics, audio system, air conditioning and anything else that is nice to have but not necessary for a vehicle to run.
There is something that the bumper-to-bumper warranty is not going to cover. It is anything that is considered as part of the body panel. This includes the actual bumpers. However, it is still a warranty that takes care of more than the powertrain warranty that only handles what is under the hood.
